For the last while, I’ve been developing AI tools to see if they can improve or augment my coaching. I’ve been designing a number of them, each aimed at testing whether AI can play a useful role in wellbeing — not replacing people, but supporting the rhythms that help us live with more intention.
One of those tools is the Daily Compass – Focus & Reflection Coach.
It’s not a planner or a to-do list. Instead, it’s built around two short check-ins — one at the start of the day, one at the end — designed to bring clarity in the morning and perspective in the evening.
Start of Day:
Highlight the values you want to live by.
Set a guiding principle for how you want to show up.
Choose one or two habits to strengthen.
Define outcomes that make the day meaningful.
Name the biggest risk to your focus and how you’ll handle it.
Do a quick check on your energy.
End of Day:
Reflect on whether your actions matched your values.
Review progress on your chosen habits and outcomes.
Notice what lifted your energy and what drained it.
Capture one win and one improvement.
Reset for tomorrow.
When I tested this with a small group, I wasn’t sure what the response would be. The feedback was stronger than expected:
“I never realised how much drift there was in my days until I started using this tool. The daily check-ins helped me reset with intention.” — Aine
“What stood out for me is the rhythm – start of day, end of day. It created a cadence that made small improvements actually stick.” — Aine
“It was my first time using an AI coach. What surprised me was how quickly I was immersed … it was more focused on how I wanted to live my day, not just the activities or objectives.” — Craig
“Planned to use it once and feed back. I liked it so much that I used it for a week. It really got me thinking about my intentions each day.” — Nigel
What I take from this is that AI can’t replace a human coach, but it can provide a simple structure people actually use. A coach might help you reframe once a week; this tool keeps you aligned every morning and evening.
That’s exactly what Sprint Living is about: anchoring yourself in values, creating small cycles of reflection, and improving continuously. The Daily Compass is just one way of putting that into practice — using a bit of technology to make the process easier.

And if you do give it a go, I’d love to hear what you notice. Did it help you stay on track? Did it shift how you approached your day? Your feedback will help me keep improving these tools.
